Relove has invested in two projects to date:
Relove has donated smartphones to support Action4Youth’s programmes for young people during the summer months. The phones will be used by group leaders to stay in touch while running these activity programmes. Action4Youth was set up to provide fun, transformational experiences for all young people whatever their background or ability, helping to inspire young people to become inspiring young people themselves. 2: upCYCLE London
upCYCLE is an organisation established in June 2020. Inspired by the global Black Lives Matter movement, the founder felt the need to help young ethnically diverse people in London. The organisation started off simply fixing bikes that were destined for landfill and donating them to charities in London, but after discussions with charities and community leaders it realised that much more was needed to get young people involved in cycling and, more importantly, to actually keep them interested.
That’s why it started running bike maintenance and cycle skills courses at The Remakery in Brixton, where young people can get a refurbished bike for free and learn how to maintain it. These workshops are great for creating a safe space, for making people feel welcome, learn new skills and unwind. Relove donated funds to support the next series of workshops post-lockdown 2021.
